DCSA and its member carriers have published IoT events standards which aim to enhance end-to-end cargo visibility for the global container shipping industry. These standards are designed to enable industry-wide standardised data sharing related to tracking and tracing of containers fitted with IoT devices (including “smart containers”). This sets the foundation for an interoperable framework of cargo visibility solutions.
With these standards in place, carriers and supply chain participants will be one step closer to providing customers with an uninterrupted flow of relevant information regarding the whereabouts of containers and the status of their contents at any point along the container journey. This can be done seamlessly using the IoT Events 1.0 Beta API as a standalone or in combination with DCSA’s Track & Trace 3.0 Beta and Reefer Events 1.0 Beta 1 APIs.
Whether you are a cargo owner, solution provider, or ocean carrier interested in implementing an API based on this standard, go to the Developer Portal or reach out to us for additional information.
